
The 2nd Annual Candle on the Bluff Celebration and Awards will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at the Orpheum Theatre at 7 PM. The theme of this year's awards is "Up From Here," and will serve as a tribute to Dr. King on the 39th Anniversary of his assassination in Memphis, Tennessee. Since April 4, 1968, many great Memphians have succeeded in keeping Dr. King's dream alive by their works within our community. On the evening of April 5th, the proud citizens of Memphis will honor them. The awards are cosponsored by the Me of The New Olivet Missionary Baptist Church in conjunction with the Morehouse College Alumni Association - Memphis Chapter. This year's honorees include:
